The Ituze Center is the only center in Rwanda that is fully dedicated to teaching yoga and other mindfulness practices. We offer weekly classes and mini-retreats at the center in yoga, mindfulness, meditation, Qigong Tai Chi, as well as workshops in Breath-Body-Mind. We also provide outreach classes in yoga, mindfulness, and Breath-Body-Mind to a variety of populations. The Ituze Center is a quiet, peaceful space that provides a healing environment for our guests and an opportunity to develop a mindful.

Aline

INSTRUCTOR

Aline MAZIMPAKA holds a degree in Social Work from the former National University of Rwanda (Butare). Aline has a 200-hr certification from Africa Yoga Project, 200-hr certification from Zanzi yoga, 300-hr Jivamukti certification, 40-hr prenatal yoga from Shanti Uganda, and she completed a meditation training in Thailand under World Peace. She has been the manager of the Ituze Center since April 2019.

Joseph

INSTRUCTOR

Joseph MANIRAGUHA never realized the positive benefits of yoga until he started practicing Yoga. Joseph is a Yoga instructor who has been practicing yoga for over 12 years focusing on Ashtanga and Baptiste Power Vinyasa Flow. He is certified as a yoga teacher by Project Air and Africa Yoga Project and graduated as BBM instructor at Breather Body-Mind. Now he is an Instructor at Ituze mindfulness and yoga center, where his main goal is to share yoga with the community. He has worked as a yoga instructor for various NGOs, Hotels, and Yoga centers. Fortunately, after feeling the positive healing energy of mind-body union, He dedicated his Career to this service.  Namaste!

Cynthia

INSTRUCTOR

Cynthia’s yoga journey began almost 20 years ago while on a trip to India. She became fascinated with the 5000 years old ancient tradition and committed herself to a daily practice of both yoga and meditation from a very young age. Having focused on various styles of yoga over the years, she finally completed her Hatha Yoga teacher training in Australia in 2018 and has been instructing ever since. Her classes range from Restorative, Prenatal, Yin Power, & Vinyasa Flow. When she is not on her mat, she is thinking of the next big idea in sustainable energy, playing her Ukulele, running marathons, & summiting mountains.

Joseph

INSTRUCTOR

Joseph Desideratus Dushimimana holds a degree in Sociology from the former National University of Rwanda (Butare). He graduated from the 3-year Africa Yoga Project Academy Program in Nairobi Kenya and is certified by the Batiste Institute of Power Yoga. Joseph is a certified breath-body-mind instructor. He also did trauma-informed training and is a certified teacher; He has learned mindfulness meditation under different Theravada teachers mainly Bhante Buddharakkhita (Founder of Uganda Buddhist temple); Bhante Ratanananda(thera) and Bhante Adicca (thera). He is a Progressive student of Qigong at Immortal Arts Academy. These practices have been therapeutic tools for him and also an opportunity to be of service to the community. His teaching style is a blend of meditative postures, movements, and breath work.
